Thoughts from the “Wishing Wall”
Since October of 2018, visitors getting a “sneak peek” of our museum have left their thoughts behind in the form of written, hanging tags in our rear theater. Some suggested prompts offered are: What are your hopes for the future? What is unique about you? What is your story in two sentences? Who is in your thoughts? What would you say to your ancestors? What strengths do you draw from the past? What will be your legacy?
Interactive Timeline
A cornerstone element of the first floor lobby is a state-of-the-art digital interactive timeline featuring an expanding timeline of key milestones related to Chinese American history. From the earliest Chinese in America to the present, the timeline illustrates the complexities, relevance, and indelible mark of this American history. Start your visit here with a broad overview of the timeline. End your tour by reading about events in the context of your own experience.
A beta version of the timeline exhibit is currently open for visitors to the museum.
Digital Photo Wall
Visitors and people of all ages and walks of life are encouraged to submit their photo, heritage, and thoughts of what it means to be a part of America. Questions asked include: What are your hopes for the future? What is unique about you? What is your story in two sentences? Who is in your thoughts? What would you say to your ancestors? What strengths do you draw from the past? What will be your legacy?
If you are interested in submitting your photo, please take a moment to fill out your information here.
